 Who holds your personal data?

 The Cerne Historical Society (CHS) is the “Controller”, for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations, of the personal data you provide to us. That data will be stored on our database which will be accessible only by the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and any other person nominated by the Chairman to access it for a specific purpose. The contact details of the CHS are set out below.

What personal data is held and for how long it will be held?

The personal data about you that the CHS holds or will hold consists of your name, address, telephone number, email address, details of any payments we have received from or made to you and, in the case of those who give talks to the CHS, background information about you. All of that data will be held securely; it will not be shared with anyone else without your express permission. In the case of members of the CHS we will only store the data for as long as you remain a member. In the case of non-members, we will only store the data for as long as it is required for the formal records and the ordinary administration of the CHS.

For what purpose will the data be stored and used?

We will only use the data to contact you about the CHS and its activities and for the normal running of the CHS, that is to say we will hold and use the data only for the legitimate interests of the CHS.

What are your rights?

 You have the right to request from us access to and rectification or erasure of any of your personal data that we hold and also to request restriction of our use of that data. You also have the right to complain about how we have handled your personal data. If you wish to make such a request or raise a complaint, please contact us via the Chair as set out below. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your data contrary to the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at: https://ico.org.uk/concerns/handling.
